Whether it's a bus ride past iconic landmarks, a tranquil river journey, or an aerial view of the city, with an Oyster card in hand, London is your oyster! 1. The Transport for London River Bus from Central London to Greenwich: It's hard to beat the appeal of a river journey. Board the River Bus in Central London using your Oyster card for an affordable adventure along the Thames. We're starting our exploration of the ambitious Maya Train project in Mexico, and our first stop is the enchanting town of Palenque in Chiapas. This adventure is not for the faint-hearted, but then again, who comes to this corner of the world for the ordinary? Let's get started! Day 1: Stepping off the Maya Train in Palenque Arriving in Palenque via the Maya Train feels like stepping back into an era of grandeur and mystery. Here you will wander through the UNESCO-protected ancient Maya ruins, marvel at the Temple of Inscriptions, and let the tales of the ancient Maya civilization unfold. Refuel with local cuisine at a cozy eatery nearby and then head to Boutique Hotel Quinta Chanabnal for a restful night. This eco-friendly hotel adds a touch of the Mayan lifestyle to your stay with its tranquil gardens and refreshing pools. Our journey begins with a spectacular beach landing on Barra, voyages to the beautiful Isle of Skye, and stretches beyond, unveiling the alluring charm of Scotland's hidden gems. Thursday: They begin their adventure by touching down after a short commercial flight from Glasgow at Barra airport, a unique location where the beach serves as the runway. From there, they're whisked away to a magnificent yacht awaiting their arrival. They set sail away from the breathtaking coastline of Barra, heading towards their first stop, Carbost on the Isle of Skye. An exploration of the renowned Talisker Distillery, the oldest operational distillery on Skye, invites them to savour the flavourful depths of award-winning Talisker Single Malt Whisky. The day culminates in a splendid dining experience at the Michelin-starred Loch Bay Restaurant, before retiring to the comfort of their yacht for the night. Friday: The Trotternish Loop tour awaits them the following morning, after a refreshing breakfast aboard their yacht. The group indulges in a luxury picnic lunch amidst this scenic tour before visiting the iconic Eilen Donan Castle, instantly recognizable to Monty Python fans. They then rejoin their yacht, docking at Arnisdale, for a scenic sail to Inverie. The day's exploration concludes with a hearty meal and warm conversation at Britain's most remote pub. Saturday: Today's itinerary offers a blend of nature and luxury. A hike through the picturesque landscapes of Inverie is followed by a short sail to Mallaig where they say a farewell to their skipper and yacht as they board the Jacobite Steam Train for a nostalgic journey to Fort William. They spend the evening ensconced in the grandeur of Inverlochy Castle, where they enjoy a gourmet feast at the Albert and Michel Roux Jr restaurant. Sunday: Their Scottish adventure reaches its conclusion, with a scenic drive through the awe-inspiring Glen Coe to Glasgow airport. Time permitting, they'll pause for a nostalgic lunch at the historic, haunted Drovers Inn at Loch Lomond's northern tip. As they bid farewell to Scotland, they carry with them cherished memories and experiences of this annual tradition of exploration and bonding.

    This July, my family and I are embarking on a one-of-a-kind road trip from Seattle, Washington to Portland, Oregon (#SeattleToPortland). Our journey will weave through the awe-inspiring natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest (#PacificNorthwest), from the pristine Olympic National Park to the captivating Crater Lake. Our journey kicks off in Seattle, from where we will head to Olympic National Park (#OlympicNationalPark). This breathtaking natural reserve promises an incredible mix of lush rainforests, alpine meadows, and stunning coastline – the ideal haven to unwind and savor the tranquility of nature, following the whirlwind of wrapping up work, preparing for the dog sitters, and making our flight to Seattle. Following the exploration of Olympic National Park, our family road trip takes a turn down the breathtaking Oregon Coast (#OregonCoast). We'll be soaking in the sunsets over Cannon Beach, catching a glimpse of sea life at Depoe Bay, and savoring as many local seafood delicacies as possible. Next, we're venturing to Crater Lake (#CraterLake), the deepest lake in the United States. Known for its almost unreal deep blue color and clear waters, Crater Lake promises to be a highlight of our family trip. Then, our adventure will lead us to the vibrant city of Bend, beloved for its outdoor activities and craft beer culture. We'll enjoy a relaxing afternoon floating down the Deschutes River before an evening of great dining. Our journey culminates in Portland, a city that's a foodie's haven and a hipster's paradise. Here, we'll be visiting my baking guru's pizza restaurant. We'll recount our journey over slices of artisanal pizza, sharing laughs, stories, and planning our next family adventure. Conclusion: From peace of Washington's temperate rain forest to the artisanal eateries of Portland, this summer road trip promises to be a fantastic family bonding experience. It's a journey through the diverse landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, a blend of shared experiences, and an exploration of our collective love for adventure.
